Ipamorelin is a synthetic pentapeptide and a selective growth-hormone secretagogue (GHS-R1a / ghrelin-receptor agonist).
Mechanism of action. In research models, ipamorelin selectively stimulates the ghrelin receptor to promote pulsatile growth-hormone release, and is noted in the literature for minimal influence on cortisol or prolactin compared with earlier secretagogues.
Research applications. Widely used as a selective GHS-R tool compound in growth-hormone-axis and somatotroph-signaling studies.
