KPV for Sale | Research Peptide, Purity-Verified | Nordiscience

What KPV Is
KPV is a synthetic tripeptide made up of lysine, proline, and valine, corresponding to residues 11 through 13 at the C-terminal end of alpha-melanocyte stimulating hormone (alpha-MSH). It is one of the shortest fragments of that parent sequence to appear regularly in published work, which is why it turns up across melanocortin signaling studies, intestinal epithelial cell models, dermal model systems, and rodent colitis models. Research reporting on KPV has generally centered on cellular inflammatory signaling readouts such as NF-kB and MAPK pathway activity, and the compound remains a frequently requested item among laboratories working in that area.
For researchers who already know where KPV sits in the literature, the sourcing decision narrows to a single practical question: can the material in the vial be confirmed as the correct tripeptide, at a stated purity, before it enters an experiment. That documentation question, and not any claim about what the compound does, is what this page addresses.
Why Verification Matters More, Not Less, on a Short Sequence
Short peptides are sometimes assumed to be easier to synthesize and therefore lower risk to source. The arithmetic runs the other way. KPV has a low molecular weight (roughly 342 g/mol as the free base), so any given mass of synthesis byproduct, truncated sequence, counterion, or residual trifluoroacetic acid left over from purification represents a proportionally larger share of what is actually in the vial than the same mass would in a 30 residue peptide.
Short sequences also carry a specific identity risk. A rearranged sequence, a partially racemized residue, or a closely related fragment of the same parent hormone can pass a simple weight check and still be the wrong material. Two verification points do most of the work here:
- Identity confirmation. Mass spectrometry (MS) and HPLC retention data confirming the material matches the expected KPV structure and molecular weight, not just the label printed on the vial.
- Purity quantification. A stated purity percentage backed by chromatographic data, with the main peak cleanly resolved from adjacent impurity peaks rather than reported as a single unsupported number.
Without both, there is no reliable way to tell whether an inconsistent dataset reflects the experimental variable under study or the starting material itself.
What a Real Certificate of Analysis Should Include
A Certificate of Analysis (COA) ties one specific batch to its test results. Before treating any COA as sufficient, confirm it includes:
- Batch or lot number matching the product actually received
- Third-party testing, not only in-house results
- HPLC purity percentage with the chromatogram attached
- Mass spectrometry identity confirmation
- Test date and the name of the testing laboratory
- Peptide content or net peptide value where reported, since gross vial weight includes counterions and residual water
A COA that is generic, undated, or not tied to a specific batch number is not verification. It is marketing collateral.
Nordiscience's Sourcing Standards
Nordiscience sources KPV under GMP-following manufacturing protocols and independently verifies each batch through third-party laboratory testing. A Certificate of Analysis is available on request for every batch sold, including HPLC purity data and mass spectrometry identity confirmation, so the material can be qualified before it reaches the bench rather than after a dataset has already been collected.
Built for Researchers Who Order Directly
Beyond the compound itself, Nordiscience is built around the procurement friction that slows laboratory ordering: standard credit card, Apple Pay, and Google Pay checkout with no crypto-only paywall, fast US shipping, and a support team reachable by email or WhatsApp for sourcing and documentation questions.
